摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling device for an internal combustion engine, suppressing excess engine temperature rise caused by gas intrusion into cooling water. SOLUTION: Cooling water is forcibly circulated into the inside of an engine cooling system through operation of a water pump 15. When a thermostat 20 is opened, inflow of cooling water from the engine cooling system into a reservoir tank 40 and outflow of cooling water from the reservoir tank 40 into the engine cooling system are allowed. An introducing passage 50 for introducing cooling water in the reservoir tank 40 is provided to a specific portion of the engine cooling system where is located adjacently to both a suction opening of the water pump 15 and a portion where cooling water circulated when the thermostat 20 is closed abuts on the thermostat 20. An operating valve 51 is provided in the introducing passage 50. The operating valve 51 is opened when a difference in internal pressure between a portion (passage 50b) of the introducing passage 50 on the side of the reservoir tank 40 and a portion (passage 50a) thereof on the side of the specific portion is a predetermined value or below, and is closed when the difference is greater than the predetermined value.
