PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diaphragm mechanism and an optical equipment which are reduced in size. SOLUTION: The diaphragm mechanism (50) comprises: a driving member (60) to be driven in accordance with a diaphragm operation; a diaphragm member (72) driven by the driving member (60) and performing the diaphragm operation; a first engagement section (62) connected to at least the driving member (60) or the diaphragm member (72); a second engagement section (74) connected to the other, the driving member (60) or diaphragm member (72) and engaged with the first engagement section (62); and a biasing member (76) connected to at least the driving member (60) or the diaphragm member (72) to provide a bias in a direction in which the first engagement section (62) and the second engagement section (74) are facing to each other.
