<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical receiving device which can perform soft decision decoding of a received signal without calculating a variance value of noise included in the received signal when the device receives signals from a plurality of transmission devices, and their receiving levels are different depending on signals from which transmission devices. <P>SOLUTION: A likelihood table storage unit 44 memorizes the likelihood table which defines relation of data representing strength of the received signal at least at one sampling point and the likelihood for each data transmission device. A home side device specifying unit 41 specifies the data transmission device of a transmission source of the received signal. A likelihood decision unit 45 selects a table corresponding to the data transmitting device of the transmission source of the received signal, refers the selected table, and specifies a likelihood corresponding to data representing strength of the received signal at least at one sampling point output by a strength output unit 32.
