PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel support for a nuclear reactor, and a method for modifying a coolant flow in the nuclear reactor, using the fuel support. SOLUTION: The fuel support 36 includes a plurality of lumens 46 and a plurality of fuel support apertures 44. Each fuel support metal aperture 44 is formed into a size capable of receiving a lower tie plate of a fuel assembly. Each lumen 46 is fluidly coupled to a different fuel support aperture 44.
