PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper money storage apparatus capable of making a paper money which causes an identification error re-identified by returning it to an identifying device. SOLUTION: In the paper money storage apparatus 10 for temporary receiving the paper money which is sent from a game machine island conveying path by a temporary reserving unit 11, for making the paper money pass to identifying means 14 after separating and sending one by one from the temporary reserving unit 11, and thereafter for storing the paper money, a retry conveying path 18 for conveying the paper money whose denomination cannot be identified by the identifying means 14 into the temporary reserve unit when a predetermined retry condition is satisfied, and a reject unit 19 for receiving and storing the paper money whose denomination cannot be identified when the retry condition is not satisfied are provided, while a direction of receiving the paper money from the game machine island conveying path to the temporary reserving unit 11 and a direction of receiving the paper money from a retry conveying path are made to be approximately the same.
