PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain a seamless playback of content without caring that different portable players are provided, and to attain an automatic playback of a plurality of contents stored in respective storage media of a plurality of portable players without performing a changeover operation of the device. SOLUTION: The portable players 2a, 2b, 3a, 3b are connected to an interface of an AV apparatus 1. The AV apparatus 1 recognizes the connected portable player and reads content management data into a memory from the storage medium of the recognized portable player, and by integrating a plurality of content management data stored in the memory, integrated content management data are created, of which the apparatus identification data, attribute data and file names are corresponded with each content. The content to be played back based on the integrated content management data is specified, and the specified content is accessed with respect to the storage medium of the portable player, then the accessed content is played back.
