<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power source device for welding which is capable of easily understanding the performance to be exerted corresponding to the installation condition. <P>SOLUTION: A contact tip THa is brought into contact with an object M to be welded to calculate the total resistance and the total inductance in a path, including power cables 14a, 14b, for transmitting the output power of a rectification circuit 24. The resistance, the inductance and the performance index are read from a table stored in a storage device 33.
