PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To arrange characters of input voices of after-recording at a suitable display position. SOLUTION: A voice direction detection device 41 detects the direction of arrival of voices from outputs of microphones 34-40. A monitor direction detection device 26 detects a direction toward which an LCD monitor 24 is turned. In after-recording of voice characters, a system control circuit 30 refers to a detection result of the monitor direction detection device 26 to correct a detection result of the voice direction detection device 41 into a voice direction considering the monitor direction. A character converting device 46 performs character recognition on input voices and converts the input voices into character codes. The character codes by the character converting device 46 are applied to a character display device 52 and an associated information adding device 48. The character display device 52 generates an image signal indicative of a sentence according to the character codes from the character converting device 52 and outputs the image signal to a mixer 22 in timing of superimposing at a picture position corresponding to the voice direction from the system control circuit 30.
