<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an autonomous score reading and music playing robot and a method thereof. <P>SOLUTION: The autonomous robot mainly contains an image capturing device 22, an interpretation device 24, a synthesis device 26, and an audio output device 28. During use, the image capturing device 22 captures an image in which musical data is embedded, and the interpretation device 24 recognizes and deciphers the musical data contained in the captured image. The synthesis device 26 simulates a sound of an instrument or a human singer by synthesis techniques in accordance with the deciphered musical data, and the audio output device 28 turns the output of the synthesis device into human audible sounds. The image of musical data is prepared in a visually recognizable form in advance and the image can also contain special symbols to give instructions such as specifying an instrument that the autonomous robot according to the present invention simulates. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
