PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of an ethylene-α-olefin-polyene copolymer by continuous multistage polymerization, where the manufacturing method gives an ethylene-α-olefin-polyene copolymer exhibiting excellent extrusion processability. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the ethylene-α-olefin-based copolymer comprises continuously polymerizing ethylene and an α-olefin in a solvent in the presence of an olefin polymerization catalyst using a polymerization reaction apparatus comprising two polymerization reactors linked in series, where the polymerization is carried out under the condition that the ratio, τ1/τ2, of an average residence time (τ1, unit: hr) in the first tank to an average residence time (τ2, unit: hr) in the second tank is 1.2-10 and that the value G below is 2-50. G=(H1/M1)/(H2/M2). H1: The feed amount of a chain transfer agent to the first tank (mol/hr). M1: The feed amount of the total monomer to the first tank (mol/hr).
