PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure water stop effect by a water stop packing fitted to the upper end face of an inner frame wall part in a handhole having the inner frame wall part and an outer frame wall part, and the joint frame thereof. SOLUTION: The handhole has the inner frame wall part 5 formed over the entire upper end face of a side wall part where an upper face opening 1 is formed, and the outer frame wall part 6 formed outside the inner frame wall part 5. The outer frame wall part 6 is formed slightly higher than the inner frame wall part 5 so that the water stop packing P fitted to the upper end face of the inner frame wall part 5 is pressed by a cover body D<SB>1</SB>with a predetermined force when the cover body D<SB>1</SB>is placed on the upper end face thereof.
