PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the structure and assembly of a disk chucking mechanism in a disk drive unit. SOLUTION: The disk chucking mechanism includes a plate 12 for chucking the disk onto a disk table, a chucking member 13 supporting the plate 12, and a mounting section 14 freely rotatably mounting the plate 12 to an arm 13. The mounting section 14 is integrally formed with the arm 13 and includes a bearing section 14a which freely rotatably supports a revolution central shaft 12b of the plate 12 and a shaft introducing section 14b which is formed by notching front ends of the mounting section facing each other across the bearing section. The width of the shaft introducing section is formed to have the diameter smaller than the diameter of the revolution central shaft. The revolution central shaft is diametrally reduced to the width of the shaft introducing section and is introduced into the bearing section and thereafter, the revolution central shaft is elastically restored to the original diameter.
