<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video display method for a portable terminal in a video distribution system which vividly displays a required part desired to view by using the portable terminal. <P>SOLUTION: This video distribution system is provided with: an accumulating and distributing server 103 which accumulates videos picked up by an imaging device 101; and a conversion server 104 which acquires the videos from the accumulation distribution server, and distributes them to the portable terminal in the case of being required from the portable terminal 105. The portable terminal displays on its display the videos acquired from the conversion server, designate a displayed video, and its arbitrary position and range, and sends the video and designation information to the conversion server. The conversion server acquires the videos designated with the portable terminal from the videos accumulated in the accumulation distribution server, cuts out the position and range designated by the portable terminal by using the acquired images, produces images of a size which is displayed on the portable terminal to distribute the produced images to the portable terminal.
