<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid generating photographs with poor compositions from different viewpoints from conventional ones. <P>SOLUTION: A camera comprises: means 1, 4 for detecting information about a luminance distribution in a photographing screen; a means 1 for extracting an edge corresponding to a top end of a main object from the photographing screen to detect its position, based on the detected information about the luminance distribution; a means 1 for comparing the detected edge position with a predetermined proper range to decide whether the composition is well or poor; and a means 9 for outputting a warning when the composition is decided to be poor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
