The method involves inscribing a communication frequency on a display in a cockpit of an aircraft by flight personnel. Environment i.e. airspace, of the aircraft is determined, and communication centers located in the environment are determined. Frequencies of the communication centers are compared with the displayed frequency. An identifier of the communication center having the frequency identical to the displayed frequency is displayed on the display when the frequency of the communication center is identical to the displayed frequency. An independent claim is also included for a system for determining an identifier of a communication center with which flight personnel of an aircraft communicates.
