<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that is compact, is capable of high speed printing and, at the same time, high image quality recording free from image displacement, and excels in maintainability. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus, a paper cassette is disposed in the lower part of the apparatus. The transfer unit and fixing unit are disposed in that order from a lower part, and the recording medium is conveyed upward. The plurality of photoreceptors are configured so as be integrated by a support body. A plurality of photoreceptors are disposed between the plurality of exposure units fixed to the housing of the image forming apparatus and an intermediate transfer belt stretched in the direction of the arrangement of the photoreceptors.
