COMPOSITE PLATE OF PLASTER AND INORGANIC FIBER, AND METHOD OF PRODUCING THE SAME

A composite plate of plaster and inorganic fiber is superior in fire resistance, has a sound absorbing property and a heat insulating property that plasterboards do not have, is light in weight and high in dimensional stability with respect to humidity variations. A composite plate of plaster and inorganic fiber characterized in that the proportion of inorganic fiber to the total weight of the composite plate is in the range of 20 - 70% by weight. The composite plate, which contains inorganic fiber, is lightweight plasterboard. Further, since the composite plate contains inorganic fiber, it is superior in sound absorbing property. And since it uses plaster, which has good dimensional stability, as a binder, its dimensional stability with respect to moisture change is high as compared with rock wool decoration sound absorbing boards using a large amount of starch as a binder.
