<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which allows a handicapped person to identify, for example, the front and the back of a printed recording paper. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 10 includes: an image forming unit 14; and an identification mark imparting unit 70 that imparts an identification mark 20a which is identifiable by a sense of touch on the paper 20 on which an image is formed by the image forming unit 14. The identification mark imparting unit 70 can form the identification mark 20a by which the front and the back of the paper 20 can be identified and can form the identification mark 20a by which the top and the bottom of the paper 20 can be identified.
