<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain a series of dictionary retrieval operation according to touch input operation without requiring switching to key input operation when performing character recognition by handwriting to make an input display of a keyword (search character (string)), in an electronic dictionary device with a handwriting input function. <P>SOLUTION: Normal dictionary search display processing only with key operation of a key input part can be performed as a matter of course, but when a handwriting input part 16 is touch-operated to perform handwriting input of search characters for character recognition and to display the search characters in a search character input area a1, not only headwords coinciding at the head with the search characters are retrieved according to final character recognition and displayed in a headword list area h1, but also headword selection processing with a cursor C moved into the list area h1 is performed hereafter by touch-operating cursor operating buttons 16c0, 16fn, 16rn displayed at the handwriting input part 16, to display an explanatory information display screen G2 corresponding to the headword specified by the cursor C by touch-operating a "determination" button 16K. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
