<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorescent lamp capable of keeping the translucency of a base by preventing the occurrence of discoloration caused by an ultraviolet ray and the deterioration of the mechanical strength of the base, and reducing a brightness difference between a fluorescent tube and the base generated in lighting the fluorescent lamp. <P>SOLUTION: This fluorescent lamp 1 is provided with the fluorescent tube 2, and the base 3 arranged at ends of the fluorescent tube 2, and at least a part of the base 3 is formed of translucent glass.
