<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which outputs automaticlly sample output according to the lowering of density, and also which enables a user to select whether or not to perform density restoring operation after visually confirming the sample output. <P>SOLUTION: When the lowering of the density of an image is detected while performing consecutive output processing that paper on which an image has been formed is ejected to a main stacking part (P1), the sample output that a test pattern image is printed and the paper is ejected to a sub tray 43 is performed (P2). Thereafter, whether to perform the density restoring operation and whether to continue the output processing are inquired from the user by displaying a selection screen (P4). When selecting that the output processing is continued, the output processing is continued (Pk), and when selecting that the density restoring operation is performed, the density restoring operation is performed (P7) and then the selection screen 100 is displayed again, so as to inquire whether or not to restart the output processing from the user again. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
