A fiber optic cable comprises a cable core comprising at least one optica l fiber and one of at least one electrical conductor and at least one streng th member disposed adjacent the at least one optical fiber, at least one pol ymeric inner layer enclosing the cable core, and at least one polymeric oute r layer enclosing the cable core and the inner layer to form the fiber optic cable, the outer layer operable to maintain integrity of the cable within a predetermined temperature range.
