The tool, generally used for marking rafters in the construction of roofs, includes a main body 10 having a slot 104, a side 101 with first graduations 102, a portion having a window 105 with second graduations 106, and a slotted portion having a ruler 50 movably mounted thereon. A transverse bar having a central semi-circular protrusion having a plurality of angle scales, is movably and rotatably mounted on the main body via bolts (60 and 600, Fig.2) and a protractor 30 having a pivoting plate 40, is secured to one of its ends. In use, transverse bar is designed to lie on the top surface of a rafter, the sides of the window are used to mark a mortise (701, Fig.5), the sliding ruler 50 is used to mark a chamfered corner (702, Fig.9) and the pivoting plate 40 is used to mark a angled junction on a rafter (Fig. 11) or reference line for forming breaches on stairs (Fig. 12). |
