The beverage for hangover relief is provided to inhibit the activity of alcohol dehydrogenase as primary alcohol-degrading enzyme, and suppress the production of acetaldehyde as the oxidizing substance of alcohol, thereby protecting liver and inhibiting hangover phenomenon. The beverage for hangover relief comprises the extracts of Alnus japonica, Citrus unshiu, Glycyrrhiza uralensis, Hovenia dulcis and Pueraria thunbergiana. The herb medicine extracts are prepared by extracting the lath(Alnus japonica), the citrus peel(Citrus unshiu), the glycyrrhizae radix(Glycyrrhiza uralensis), the earth bottle(Hovenia dulcis) and Puerariae Flos(Pueraria thunbergiana) in ethyl alcohol.
