There is provided a PWM inverter device capable of eliminating a phase error occurring when generating a PWM signal even when the frequency of a carrier wave is not sufficiently large with respect to the frequency of a signal wave. A PWM signal generator (2) has a phase adjuster (11) for adding an amount of the phase delay of a PWM signal with respect to a desired signal wave, caused by employing a digital control, to the signal wave to increase its phase. In addition, for a change of the carrier wave frequency, the amount of the phase delay with respect to the signal wave is updated in synchronization with this change timing and added to the signal wave. ® KIPO & WIPO 2009
