A step portion (51) is disposed at the periphery of a position where the adhesive (20) is applied so that a front end of a needle (40) for ejecting the adhesive (20) comes in contact with the step portion (51). A passage (52) is formed in the step portion so as to introduce the adhesive (20) ejected from the front end of the needle (40) to the position. Laser diode (100) is thereby fixed in a hole (12) of a holder (10) by an adhesive (20) without the needle (40) used for supplying the adhesive (20) coming into contact with the laser diode (100).
