A stabilised insecticidal powder comprises a sulphur-containing phosphorus insecticide of the type which forms thiol groups by decomposition, e.g. 0, 0-dimethyl-S-(1, 2-dicarbethoxy-ethyl) phosphorodithioate, together with an oil (i.e. an organic liquid, inert to the insecticide, which is of low volatility such that the liquid is not lost from the powder during storage) and a particulate carrier composed of substantially ion-free Kieselguhr. Aromatic or predominantly aromatic hydrocarbon oils are preferred. The powder may also contain an inert solid particulate extender, e.g. pumice powder. A wettable or dispersable powder may be produced by incorporating an inert wetting and/or dispersing or suspending agent in the powder. |
