<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a random number generator with high performance for generating random numbers with high quality at a high speed. <P>SOLUTION: This random number generator is provided with a pulse voltage generator 70 for generating a pulse waveform voltage whose amplitude is 26 mV or more; a random noise generation element 10a having source/drain regions separately formed on a semiconductor substrate, a tunnel insulating film formed on the semiconductor substrate being a channel region between the source region and the drain region; and a gate electrode formed on the tunnel insulating film to which a pulse voltage from the pulse voltage generator is applied, wherein a random noise is included in currents flowing between the source region and the drain region; and a random generation part 30 for generating a random signal on the basis of the scale of the random noise to be generated from the random noise generation element. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
