PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricating oil composition for an internal combustion engine which has sufficient cleanliness and dispersibility (long-term drainability) without use of a metallic cleaning agent or ZnDTP, while being excellent in wear resistance. SOLUTION: The lubricating oil composition for an internal combustion engine contains: base lubricating oil; (A) a disulfide compound represented by the formula R<SP>1</SP>OOC-A<SP>1</SP>-S-S-A<SP>2</SP>-COOR<SP>2</SP>(1) and/or the formula R<SP>7</SP>OOC-CR<SP>9</SP>R<SP>10</SP>-CR<SP>11</SP>(COOR<SP>8</SP>)-S-S-CR<SP>16</SP>(COOR<SP>13</SP>)-CR<SP>14</SP>R<SP>15</SP>-COOR<SP>12</SP>(2); (B) a boron-free ashless dispersant having an alkyl or alkenyl group with a number average molecular weight of 500 to 3,000 in a side chain; (C) and a boron-containing ashless dispersant having an alkyl or alkenyl group with a number average molecular weight of 500 to 4,000 in a side chain.
