A subscription system for a multicast broadcast type contents supplying service in the mobile communication and a method thereof are provided to efficiently secure many subscribers for the service which provides multicast broadcast type contents. A subscription system for a multicast broadcast type contents supplying service comprises the followings: a contents supplying server(35) which receives a request for subscriber information and provides the subscriber information; a COIS(40) which receives a service subscription request from the contents supplying server and requests subscriber registration; an authentication center(50) which produces an RK by using an A-Key when a request for creating the RK is generated; an SMSC(60) which transmits a short message to the mobile terminal based on an SMS request; an SMD controller(45) which requests the SMS from an SMSC to notify of the service registration result; and an OTA server(55) transmitting basic service information to the mobile terminal through an OTA.
