AMPLIFICATION METHOD OF METHYLATED OR UNMETHYLATED NUCLEIC ACID

It is intended to provide a gene amplification method whereby both of a m ethylated nucleic acid and an unmethylated nucleic acid occurring in a biolo gical sample can be amplified and, moreover, the amplification rate(s) of th e methylated nucleic acid and/or unmethylated nucleic acid can be appropriat ely controlled. This object can be achieved by an amplification method which comprises using a nonspecific primer hybridizable with both methylated and unmethylated nucleic acids and a specific primer specifically hybridizable w ith a methylated or unmethylated nucleic acid, and an amplification method w hich further comprises varying the mixing ratio of these primers to thereby vary the amplification rate of a methylated nucleic acid or an unmethylated nucleic acid.
