<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of porous honeycomb structure for manufacturing a porous honeycomb structure capable of effectively achieving raising of a trapping efficiency of soot or the like, lowering of a pressure loss, improving cleaning performance by effective use of a catalyst, and lengthening a trapping time, and additionally capable of improving a dissolved loss limit at the time of filter regeneration, and an isostatic strength. <P>SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of porous honeycomb structure includes the steps of: adding 0.5-5 pts.mass of foamed foam resin to 100 pts.mass of cordierite material is added to the cordierite material as a porosigen; kneading them to prepare a body; charging the body into an extruder to be formed into a honeycomb shape; drying and calcining the obtained honeycomb formed body; and obtaining the porous honeycomb structure having a plurality of partition walls comprising porous ceramic having a porosity of 55-75% and an average pore diameter of 15-35 μm, wherein the pores of the partition walls have a pore distribution represented by the specific condition formula. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
