PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spinning reel for fishing which can prevent water and dusts in the front portion of the reel body, without requiring the flange portion of the reel body and which can be made light-weight and reduced in size. SOLUTION: This spinning reel 10 in which the rotation of a handle 32 is transmitted to a rotor 60 via a driving mechanism 24 received in the reel body 12, and a line is wound up on a spool 50 via a line guide 72a disposed on the rotor 60, is formed with a support portion 80a for rotatably supporting a driving shaft 22 driven with a driving mechanism 24, in a front portion 80 projecting forward from bearings 36a, 36b supporting the handle 32, in the reel body 12; a dent portion 62 for receiving the front portion 80 in the rotor 60 open backward; a driving portion 68 integrally connected to the hollow driving shaft 22 disposed in the dent portion 62; and the front portion 80 of the reel body 12 sealed with a seal member 90, disposed between the periphery of the driving portion 68 and the support portion 80a.
