The invention relates to a roller hearth furnace comprising two spaced-apart walls (2) and a roller conveyor, in which there are included a plurality of rollers (1) of metal, which protrude through holes (4) in the walls and are mounted in bearings (5) situated outside the same, the individual roller being hollow and comprising an internal, heat-insulating body (28) having the purpose of counteracting axial outflow of heat toward the bearings (5). According to the invention, the individual roller (1) is in the form of a cylindrical pipe body manufactured from a solid piece of metal, the opposite ends of which pipe body are situated outside the walls (2) and mounted in bearings (5), each of which comprises a pair of spaced-apart bearing wheels against which the pipe body abuts in a freely expandable state.
