PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fault information storage device and a fault information storage method for collecting fault information in reproduction with less memory capacity and easily analyzing a cause of the reproduction fault on the basis of the small amount of fault information. SOLUTION: A reproduction quality indicator operating part 580 calculates a reproduction quality indicator to be an index of reproduction quality when reproducing audio data from a disk 120 on the basis of fault information related to a reproduction fault acquired by a fault information acquiring part 560. When there are a plurality of acquired fault information, a fault information storing part 560 stores the prescribed pieces of fault information in an internal storage medium 500 in the ascending order of reproduction quality indicators obtained from each fault information to thereby reducing memory capacity to store the fault information, and in addition, a user can easily acquire fault information (low reproduction quality) which is directly associated with the cause of the reproduction fault in particular.
