PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable exercise volume measuring instrument capable of calculating consumption calories when performing various kinds of exercises without limiting an exercise place, and easily calculating the consumption calories even when it not connected to a server via a communication network. SOLUTION: The portable exercise volume measuring instrument includes: an input means for inputting individual data of a user who desires the measurement of exercise volume; a receiving means for receiving identification data for identifying the kind of a body movement to be detected; a counting means for counting times of the body movements; and a time measuring means for measuring time from the start time till the end time of the body movement to be detected. The instrument also includes: a control means for calculating the consumption calories, on the basis of a calculation formula corresponding to the identification data, and generating consumption calory data; and a display means for displaying the generated consumption calory data.
