PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traffic information distribution system which satisfies both of reduction of the amount of traffic information distributed, and provision of appropriate traffic information. SOLUTION: In a traffic information distribution system which distributes traffic information to a vehicle under traveling using radio communications from a center, the center determines a traffic congestion status about each link in a predetermined information distribution area established based on a location of the vehicle which is a distribution destination of the traffic information and the congestion status on the whole area concerned, and transmits the congestion status about a link of a different congestion status from the congestion status about the whole area concerned among the links in the area concerned more preferentially than other links as traffic information to the vehicle of the distribution destination.
