PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage controller and its control method, capable of validly and easily preventing the deterioration of data input/output processing performance due to the deviation of a load between controllers. SOLUTION: The storage controller and its control method, for providing a logical volume prepared on a storage region provided by a storage device, to a host computer, and for controlling the input/output of data to the logical volume, are configured to monitor the load circumstances of each control part for controlling the input/output of data to the logical volume, and to switch the charge of the logical volume to another control part in order to equalize the loads of the each control part.
