PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lever escapement having a thin structure. SOLUTION: This lever escapement for a timepiece includes an escape wheel set 1 driven by a gear train 2; a balance roller 3 mounted with an impulse pin 4 and a first impulse pallet stone 5; and a balance assembly 8 moving on a shaft 9, and having a fork 10 cooperating with the impulse pin 4. The first impulse pallet stone 5 is arranged, to cooperate with teeth 6 and 7 of the escape wheel set 1. The balance assembly 8 carries a second impulse pallet stone 11 cooperating with the teeth of the escape wheel set 1, a first locking pallet stone 12 and a second locking pallet stone 13. The escape wheel set 1 includes a first gear 14 and a second gear 15 arranged coaxially and fixed to each other. The teeth 6 of the first gear 14 meshes directly with the gear train 2, and cooperates with the first locking pallet stone 12. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
