<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep a relative character dimensional relationship between respective sentence areas before and after translation of a document. <P>SOLUTION: An image processing device 10 divides a document image into the sentence areas, recognizes characters included in the respective divided sentence areas, classifies the respective sentence areas into groups according to the size of the recognized characters, translates the sentence constructed of the characters included in the sentence area into a predetermined language for each sentence areas, calculates the character size of the sentence area based on the size of the sentence area, line spacing, character spacing and the number of characters of the sentence after translation, and corrects the character size of the respective character areas so that the character size is equalized between the sentence areas classified into the same group after translation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
