PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect a motor control device for an ECU from overheating by detecting the environmental temperature of the ECU without adding a thermistor to the electric power steering ECU, and restricting supply current to a motor to suppress heat generation of the motor. SOLUTION: This electric power steering device 1 includes a motor target current suppression processing means 45 which restricts the supply current to the motor 10 based on current detected by a motor current detector 34 and flowing into the motor 10 and temperature inside of an engine room, detected by an engine controlling temperature detection means 60.
