PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more accurately specify a light source that has illuminated an object, in order to perform white balance correction. SOLUTION: A white balance correction device includes: an information detection section (131) for detecting information about the picture pattern of the object from an image signal of the object captured from an imaging element; a light source estimation section (111) for estimating a light source that has illuminated the object, using the information about the picture pattern; and white balance correction means (106, 110) which judges and extracts an image signal indicative of white from the image signal in accordance with the estimated light source, and performs white balance correction in such a way that the extracted image signal becomes a signal indicative of white.
