VIDEO SIGNAL SWITCHING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video signal switching apparatus in which a plurality of video signals with different encoding schemes or encoded information can be smoothly switched and coupled while preventing a buffer from being ruptured.

SOLUTION: A video signal selecting section 21 controls a switcher 22 on the basis of a transmission schedule. The switcher 22 switches a contact in such a way as to input to a switching control section 23 a video signal, outputted from an encoder, selected by the video signal selecting section 21. The switching control section 23 generates a video switching signal Qx in which an event IDx of each video signal registered on the transmission schedule is made corresponding to the encoding scheme and the encoded information regarding the relevant video signal. A video switching section 24 switches and couples video signals S1, S2, ... output from encoders on the basis of the video switching signal Qx and outputs the coupled video signals as one video signal Sout.
