<p>The method involves supplying the digital m-Bit-width gray value signals by a 3n-Bit-width to the transmission path (3), which has n-bit-width R, G, B-color channels. The 2m-Bit-width gray scale signals are recovered according to a decoding regulation of a decoder (7) of the image reproduction device (5). The decoding regulation corresponds to coding regulation, while the decoder does not evaluate the non occupied bit locations of the 3n-Bit-width of transmission path. An independent claim is also included for an arrangement with monochrome image reproducing device and image source.</p> |
