摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a submarine treatment method for CO2 gas generated above the ground based on the concept that the pressure of a liquified CO2 gas is 49 kg/cm<SP>2</SP>and a specific gravity of the same is 1.53 at normal temperature so that the CO2 gas must sink in seawater if the liquified state can be maintained in seawater under the Kyoto protocol under which CO2 gas emission reduction is internationally obliged. SOLUTION: The invention is composed of a thermal power station (1), a CO2-liquifying facility (2), a transport pipe (3) for liquified CO2, an outlet port (4) for discharging liquified CO2, sea-surface (5), a boundary (6) at the depth of the sea of 490 m, water pressure of 49 atmospheres in the sea, and deep seabed (7). CO2 gas generated at the thermal power station (1) is liquified at the CO2 liquifying facility (2), the liquified CO2 is transported via the transport pipe (3) for liquified CO2 to under the boundary (6) at the depth of the sea of 490 m and water pressure of 49 atm, and then liquified CO2 is discharged from the outlet (4) for discharging liquified CO2 located under the boundary into the deep sea. The discharged liquified CO2 maintains its liquid form because of its surrounding water pressure and the specific gravity greater than water, so that the liquified CO2 sinks toward the deep sea with even higher water pressure. Hence, CO2 gas generated at such thermal power station above the ground is not discharged into the atmosphere, but can be contained in the form of liquified gas in the deep seabed (7) permanently.
