ANTIMIRCROBIAL COMPOSITION AND PRESERVATIVE COMPOSITION INCLUDING A EXTRACT DERIVED FROM TORREYA NUCIFERA

An antimicrobial composition, and a preservative composition are provided to prevent the decay of food or cosmetics by using an extract of Torreya nucifera. An antimicrobial composition contains at least one extract selected from the group consisting of an extract of the stem of Torreya nucifera, an extract of the leaves of Torreya nucifera, an extract of the fruit of Torreya nucifera and an extract of the seed of Torreya nucifera as an active ingredient. Preferably the microorganism is selected from E. coli, Bacillus, sp., Staphylococcus sp., Streptococcus sp., Aeromonas sp., Salmonella sp., Aspergillus sp., Fusarium sp., Trichoderma sp., and Candida sp.
