A microfluidic apparatus is provided to remove the need for increasing the size of a substrate in order to increase the capacity of a fluid container and to allow a chamber and a channel to be arranged easily in a substrate.. A microfluidic apparatus(100) comprises a substrate(101) which is provided with a channel for transferring fluid; a fluid container(140) which accommodates at least one kind of fluid and is arranged on the substrate so as to flow the fluid into the channel; and a fluid velocity control unit which controls the flow of fluid from the fluid container to the channel. Preferably the fluid container is adhered to the substrate so as to be fixed.
