A unit for harvesting castor plants consists of a frame whereon a stripping drum is mounted. It is made as a cylinder along the generatrices of which fingers, cases and drives of a working element are arranged. At the edges of the drum two cones are symmetrically arranged, and the stripping fingers are rigidly fixed along the generatrices of a cylindrical part of the drum and that conical. The distance between the stripping fingers is larger than the diameter of the central plant stem. The length of the fingers is larger than the diameter of the central plant tassel.
