Disclosed is an optimum transparent barrier sheet securing a desired gas barrier performance and exhibiting high gas barrier performance even under high temperature, high humidity conditions. This transparent barrier sheet has such a transparency that enables to see an object wrapped therein from the outside, and a metal detector can be used for detecting the object wrapped in this transparent barrier sheet. Furthermore, curling does not occur in this transparent barrier sheet. Also disclosed is a method for producing such a transparent barrier sheet. Specifically disclosed is a transparent barrier sheet wherein a transparent primer layer is arranged on a base sheet, and at least a transparent inorganic thin film layer and a transparent organic thin film layer are arranged in this order on the transparent primer layer. This transparent barrier sheet is characterized in that the relation represented by the formula (1) below is satisfied with the surface roughness Ra of the transparent primer layer being Ra1, and the surface roughness Ra of the transparent organic thin film layer serving as the outermost layer being Ra3. |
