A shock absorber is provided to improve the ride comfort since the vibration delivered from the road is not transmitted to the vehicle. A shock absorber comprises a cylinder, a piston valve(56), a hollow, a pressure compensation flow channel, a bypass channel, a diaphragm. The piston valve is connected to a piston rod(54). The piston valve divides the cylinder into a first chamber and a second chamber. The hollow is formed in the piston rod. The top of hollow and the first chamber are connected through the pressure compensation channel. The pressure compensation channel maintains the pressure within the hollow regularly. The first chamber and the lower part of hollow and the second chamber are connected through the bypass channel. The diaphragm is installed inside the hollow. The diaphragm shuts the upper and lower part of the hollow tightly. The diaphragm opens and closes the bypass channel according to the pressure of the hollow top.
